19th Century Eskbank House offers you a great introduction to Lithgow's history. You can even see the 'Possum', a steam locomotive from Hoskin's works, which is on display in the grounds. Open Thursday to Monday, 10am - 4pm. Lithgow Heritage Map Part of Lithgow's rich industrial history, William Sandford established his blast furnace in 1886. Put yourself right in the picture by visiting its remains in Blast Furnace Park. Lithgow Heritage Map Lithgow Pottery was established in 1876. See handmade pottery at the Old Lithgow Pottery, Silcock Street. Open every day, buses welcome. Lithgow Heritage Map Built to the memory of Guildford Hoskins, Hoskin's Uniting Church was dedicated in 1928. The surrounding garden is one of the finest in Lithgow. Lithgow Heritage Map The State Mine Railway Heritage Park opens for tours weekends, public holidays. Other times by appointment. Bus tours welcome by appointment. Lithgow Heritage Map At Oakey Park, off Bells Line of Road, you'll find Zig Zag Brewery, Zig Zag School, miners' cottages and Oakey Park Colliery Poppet Head. One of Lithgow's major industrial sites, a wooden poppet head and other industrial artefacts mark this site. Lithgow Heritage Map Australian Defence Industries' Small Arms Factory Methven Street, opened in 1912, is famous for its manufacture of the Lee Enfield 303. The Small Arms Museum is open weekends, public holidays or by appointment. Bus tours welcome by appointment. Lithgow Heritage Map Main Street's Queen Elizabeth Park has beautiful trees, a spectacular avenue of roses and garden displays.
