Alexander Hotel (Rydal Pub) - Lithgow Rydal, NSW BLUE MOUNTAINS

Address:

Bathurst Street, Rydal, NSW, Australia

Description:

Visit the picturesque historic village of Rydal and stay at the Hotel Alexander, affectionately known by the locals and visitors as the "Rydal Pub".

Experience the warm hospitality and true friendly locals in a real country pub. Relax by cosy open fires, outdoors in the beer garden, or simply sit back on the verandah and take in the view across the beauitiful countryside.

Home-style meals are provided from the new kitchen, and coffee and snacks are available throughout the day. Seven bedrooms are located upstairs. They are basic pub-style (yet to undergo renovation), and with a new share-bathroom.
The pub may be fairly quiet during the week, but on Thursday nights the fishing club holds their raffle nights. Fridays and Saturday nights there is a video jukebox and some may party until well after midnight, depending on who is around! We have a license until 3.00am. Weather can range from warm during the day to quite cool in the evenings and mornings. There is often a chance of snow in the winter months as we are at an elevation of around 1000 metres.

We had a great time at the pub and would certainly stay there again. The town is lovely and we would consider going for a few days - there are some nice walks around and Lake Lyell is lovely to visit. The pub staff are very friendly and helpful, the pub itself is gorgeous, and the locals are friendly. The food is basic pub fare and the coffee is pretty good as well. We will be back.

The Rydal pub is a gem !! Mine host Phil is very friendly, helpful and informative.Although somewhat isolated with little or no infrastructure apart from the hotel, the weekend spent in Rydal was absolutely most enjoyable. We dearly hope that the Rydal pub prospers so we can make another visit !!

Sorry that you feel your room was not up to an acceptable standard. With new cleaning staff we have gone through all the rooms, however some renovation is required to bring it up to the level where we will be promoting accommodation to the wider population.
